Challenge

As part of our GoodSub (CSR) initiative, we teamed up with The Blackett Lab Family (BLF) - a UK-based collective of black physicists with a singular purpose: to diversify perceptions of physics by inspiring, connecting and representing black youths.

 

We needed to show that the face of physics could be changed by uniting black minds to see beyond. The BLF quest essentially begins in the minds of local communities: those in school, their parents and influencers, students who are clear about their future career, students who have no idea what to do next. Their ambition is rooted from the desire to become influential in society to effectively lead conversations in their communities and beyond.

Solution

We built the brand upon the insight that ‘Black is bright’ - the foundation for a simple, yet bold brand. From here, we were able to give the BLF team the assets and tools to start using their new identity, from basic guidelines to Canva social media templates.

 

Due to restrictions at the time, the complete brand transformation was done without ever meeting in person. We tested new tech on the BLF team to facilitate our brand co-creation approach remotely, enabling us to collaborate both better and faster. A truly unique experience.

Brave Moment

A brand identity was already in existence that the client was apprehensive to refresh. After the strategy phase was presented, their minds soon changed, and we were entrusted with the creation of a completely new brand.
